A semi hauling automobiles caught fire on Interstate 70 early Friday morning, but no one was hurt.
The fire broke out between Hays and Ellis near mile marker 148, according to Trooper Tod Hileman.
Traffic was down to one lane into the late morning hours while a tow truck removed the semi.
Another semi fire was reported Friday morning in southeast Wichita. It happened around 7:30 in the northbound lanes of the Kansas Turnpike (I-35), near 47th Street South. No one was hurt, but the cab of the semi was destroyed. Northbound lanes of the Turnpike were blocked for close to an hour.
