Plans are being made to install two new public restrooms and four drinking fountains at selected locations in downtown Wichita.

New modern and durable restrooms will be installed at A. Price Woodard Park and Naftzger Park.    A drinking fountain will be installed at Naftzger Park and at Old Town Square. Two more fountains will be installed at downtown locations that will be determined later.

The City Council has approved a budget of $630,310 for the project, but there was discussion on where the funding would come from.   Council member Brandon Johnson wants to avoid cutting into funding that is intended for aesthetics and beautification at Woodard Park.   The Council will hear more information on the funding at their October 3rd meeting.
