A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Tuesday to open a new food plant in Wichita.
JTM Foods makes JJ’s Bakery products and JJ’s Snack Pies, and it has constructed a 195,000 square-foot plant in the ict21 Industrial Park at 21st Street and I-135. The plant is expected to employ 150 people within the next two years and up to 200 for its third year of operation. The new factory will produce 80 million pies in its first year.
The factory will begin hiring employees in September.
