A southwest Wichita water park that closed because of extensive vandalism has announced plans for its reopening.
Splash Aqua Park ICT will reopen Friday. The announcement was made on the park’s Facebook page:
Beginning Friday, we will be open with half of our inflatables available for use and will be charging half price admission fee for the remainder of the season!
We are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support and kindness from our incredible community during this challenging time. While we truly appreciate the generosity and willingness to help rebuild the park, we must inform you that we have decided to shut down the GoFundMe page and refund those that have already contributed. The incident is currently under investigation, and we are actively working with our insurance company to assess the extent of the damage caused by the vandals. As the situation is complex and ongoing, we believe it is best to resolve matters through proper channels to ensure a transparent process.
Park officials say they are looking ahead to the grand reopening in 2024 when they plan to have all of the inflatables fully operational.
