Crews were on the scene of a fire at a vacant house in south Wichita that forced the closure of a major street.
Flames were coming from both floors of a two-story home in the 1700 block of South Broadway when crews arrived around 5:45 a.m. Lines were set up to protect two neighboring homes and crews stayed outside the home to fight the fire from a defensive posture.
The fire forced the closure of South Broadway between Osie and Skinner while crews worked at the scene. No injuries were reported.
