False Alarm on Active Shooter Threat on OU Campus

An Active Shooter alert was issued on the University of Oklahoma campus Friday night.

Around  9:25 p.m., The OU Dept. of Campus Safety issued the alert, advising students to take immediate action. Then at 9:45 p.m. OU-Norman Emergency provided an update around 9:45 p.m. that campus police were investigating possible shots fired on the main campus in Norman, advising students to avoid the South Oval area and shelter in place

The Department of Campus Safety canceled the alert after finding no threat.

There was no confirmation of shots ever being fired and there were no reports of injuries.
