Maintenance work will mean changes for traffic on a busy northwest Wichita street this week.
Crews are working on the Zoo Boulevard bridge over the Big Ditch. They have been working on the north side of the bridge, which moved traffic to the south side where two lanes are open in each direction. No left turns have been allowed at the intersection of Windmill Road and Zoo Boulevard.
On Wednesday, January 10th, crews will move to the south side of the bridge and traffic will move to the north side. Once the changes are made, two westbound lanes of traffic will remain open on Zoo Blvd., but eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane. Drivers on Windmill Rd. will be required to come to a complete stop at Zoo Blvd. before turning right. No left turns are allowed at this intersection.
The bridge project began in September, and it will continue into the summer.
