The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has announced a major seizure of illegal drugs in Wichita.
The KBI worked with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, Homeland Security and the Drug Enforcement Administration to carry out four search warrants on Thursday. The searches were made at two homes in south Wichita and one home on the south side.
The agents seized 60,000 fentanyl pills, weighing 13 pounds, along with 59 pounds of methamphetamine and over 4 pounds of fentanyl powder.
No arrests have been made, but the cases will be presented to county and federal prosecutors for charges, and the investigation is continuing. The KBI said they received information Wednesday on the movement of illegal drugs into Kansas, and that led to the search warrants on Thursday.
