An escaped murder suspect from Kentucky and an alleged accomplice are behind bars following their arrest Thursday in El Dorado, Kansas.
Police say the escapee – ID’d as 24-year-old Samuel Baker of Somerset, Kentucky – was indicted in spring 2021 for murder and related charges in the shooting death of a Faubush, Kentucky man.
Baker was placed on home incarceration in August while awaiting trial on the murder charge before he and 28-year-old Adriana Brown disappeared on Wednesday. They were arrested in El Dorado on local charges. Police were checking on a suspicious vehicle outside a convenience store and they found that it had been stolen. The two were arrested without incident and then police learned of the Kentucky charges.
Baker and Brown will be facing extradition to Pulaski County, Kentucky.
