The WSU Tech Foundation has announced a grant that will help in reaching under-represented and K-12 students to improve awareness of careers in machining and manufacturing.

The Gene Haas Foundation has provided a gift of $1 million that will be used to develop an outreach coordinator and a metrology/advanced machining faculty position.

WSU Tech’s newly-renovated CNC machining lab will be named the Gene Haas Innovation Lab, and it will provide the latest technologies to train students in the skills they will need in machining careers.   The Gene Haas Machining Scholarship will be created for the spring, 2023 semester to cover tuition and fees for new and current students looking to pursue a technical certificate in CNC Operator or machining technology.
