Evergy has cut electric power to the Towne West Square shopping mall after delivering a notice this week warning of the disconnection. Electric power was disconnected Friday morning to most stores in the mall.
The utility said the Kohan Retail Investment Group, which owns the mall, had not paid the electric bill. The larger stores at the mall have separate accounts that are in good standing and not in danger of disconnection.
This is the second time that the mall was notified of possible disconnection. The previous notice was delivered in June, and payment was made on the electric bill.
