An El Dorado woman was killed and a boy in her vehicle had critical injuries after a late night crash in Butler County.
The crash happened around 10:45 Wednesday night in the 3600 block of SE Highway 54, southeast of El Dorado. Investigators said a westbound minivan had crossed the center line and tried to move back into its lane when it collided with a pickup.
The minivan driver, 28-year-old Elli Humig of El Dorado, was pronounced dead at the scene. A five-year-old boy in the minivan was taken to a Wichita hospital with critical injuries.
The pickup driver, a 43-year-old man from Yates Center, was hospitalized with serious injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
