The Kansas Food Bank is again providing summer meals to children before the start of the new school year.
A program called Filling the Gap will provide meals on July 31st and on August 7th. There will be six locations where youngsters can pickup five days’ worth of “grab and go” meals. Each child will receive ten meals for the next week, with five breakfasts and five lunches. Kids must be present to pick up the meals and no pre-registration is required.
The meal distributions will be from noon to 1 p.m. at the locations below:
South/Southeast
· Colvin Neighborhood Resource Center – 2820 S Roosevelt
· Word of Life South – 2020 E Blake St
North/Northwest
· Evergreen Neighborhood Resource Center – Parking lot of 2700 N Woodland
North/Northeast
· HealthCore Clinic – 2707 E 21st St N
Monday, July 31st, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm – COVID Vaccines and well-child/sports physicals will also be available
Oaklawn
· Oaklawn Activity Center – 4904 S Clifton
Haysville
· Haysville United Methodist Church – 601 E Grand
The program is intended to provide meals during the gap between the end of the school district’s summer meal program and the beginning of the school year.
