Evergy said it has notified Towne West Square that some businesses will lose electric service unless the mall pays its bill this week.
The utility said some larger stores in the mall are on separate accounts that are in good standing, so they won’t be affected, but some tenants could lose service.
The mall was given a deadline of Tuesday to make a payment. Towne West has lost a number of tenants in recent years and has recently focused on attracting more local businesses.
