The Kansas women’s basketball team defeated Columbia, 66-59 Saturday to win the championship of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
KU forward Taiyanna Jackson scored 17 points and had 21 rebounds in the championship game at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence. It was Jackson’s 23rd double-double of the season. Zakiyah Franklin had 19 points and Wyvette Mayberry had 12 points.
The KU women’s team finished the season with a 25-11 record.
