A 37-year-old Wichita man is in jail for two counts of rape of a person under 14-years-old.
Police got a call shortly after midnight Tuesday, from a woman in the area of Pawnee and Broadway. She told officers that a 13-year-old was in a nearby hotel room with a man, and she believed they were having unlawful relations. Officers went to the room and contacted the 37-year-old and the juvenile. The two were taken downtown for interviews and the man was arrested shortly after.
This case will be handed over to the District Attorney’s Office where formal charges will be decided.
