A house fire in central Topeka resulted in the deaths of two children and an adult early Friday.
The fire was reported around 5 a.m. at a home in the 900 block of SW Warren Avenue, and crews saw flames and heavy smoke when they arrived. Four people were in the two-story home, and crews got an adult and a child outside and began medical treatment. The child died later at a hospital. Another adult and child were pronounced dead at the scene. No information has been released on the victims.
The Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office is helping with the investigation.
