On Wednesday, December 7th, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Benefit Fund will begin their annual food basket drive to help Sedgwick County residents in need during the holidays.

Volunteers will be packaging food items for delivery at the Dillon’s warehouse, 21999 W. US 54 starting around 9 a.m.

Dillon’s provides the Benefit Fund with materials, facility use, and personnel to package up the boxes. The Benefit Fund will be providing 400 families with two boxes filled with various food products. Citizens and first responders in Sedgwick County submit names of families in need.

Several dozen volunteers from all First Responder sections (Fire, EMS, 911 Dispatch, WPD, and Sedgwick County Sheriff Deputies) assist with the packaging and delivering of over 800 boxes of food.
